La regla · The rule

A Spanish report has a fixed order: antecedentes, diagnóstico, análisis, recomendaciones. The recommendations come last and are numbered, and a report that argues in the diagnóstico section has broken its own contract.

Y también · And also

Write the diagnóstico as facts only. It is harder than it sounds, and it is exactly what separates a report from an opinion piece with headings.

Ojo · Watch out

The order is fixed: antecedentes, diagnóstico, análisis, recomendaciones — and the diagnóstico states FACTS only; an argument there is a fault of structure, not of style. recomendar changes e to ie: recomiendo.

recomendar, presente — the table

yo recomiendo · tú recomiendas · él/ella/usted recomienda · nosotros recomendamos · ustedes recomiendan · ellos/ellas recomiendan

Do it now — on paper

  1. Say all 9 words aloud twice from the respelling, then once from the Spanish spelling alone — begin with los antecedentes.
  2. Copy every word with its accents on paper; then cover the English column and write each meaning back from the Spanish.
  3. Write out recomendar, presente in full from memory, every person, and check each form against the table above.

This free course is the reading half. The writing half — write-in lessons, daily practice pages with built-in review, self-checks and a full answer key — is the companion workbook series, The Spanish Ladder: one workbook per module, fifteen in all, released band by band with the Basic band (Modules 1–5) first.
