La regla · The rule

A reader should be able to reconstruct your plan from the first sentence of each paragraph. That is not a stylistic preference; it is how Spanish academic writing is graded.

Y también · And also

Test it by reading only the topic sentences aloud. If they make an argument on their own, the essay is built. If they make a list, it is not.

Ojo · Watch out

Read only the first sentence of each paragraph aloud: if they argue, the essay is built; if they list, it is not. reconstruir el plan is what the examiner does — calificado here means graded, not qualified.

construir, voz pasiva — the table

él es construido · ella es construida · ellos son construidos · ellas son construidas

Do it now — on paper

  1. Say all 8 words aloud twice from the respelling, then once from the Spanish spelling alone — begin with reconstruir el plan.
  2. Copy every word with its accents on paper; then cover the English column and write each meaning back from the Spanish.
  3. Write out construir, voz pasiva in full from memory, every person, and check each form against the table above.

This free course is the reading half. The writing half — write-in lessons, daily practice pages with built-in review, self-checks and a full answer key — is the companion workbook series, The Spanish Ladder: one workbook per module, fifteen in all, released band by band with the Basic band (Modules 1–5) first.
