IT Support Readiness Practice Test

Twenty-five original questions covering the ground an entry-level IT support certification covers: hardware, operating systems, networking basics, security hygiene, and the troubleshooting method itself. You get instant scoring, a breakdown showing which topics let you down, and an explanation for every answer so a wrong attempt still teaches you something.

Not affiliated with or endorsed by any certification body. These are original study questions written for self-assessment — not questions from any actual exam.

For information and self-assessment only, to help you prepare. Always refer to the official certifying body's own materials and content outline as the source of record.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the real CompTIA A+ exam?

No. Every question here is written from scratch to cover the same subject areas an entry-level IT support certification covers. Reproducing questions from a real exam would breach copyright and the candidate agreement, and it would also be poor preparation — recognising a memorised question teaches you nothing about the concept behind it.

What score means I am ready?

Seventy percent is the threshold used here, and clearing it comfortably across every topic is a better signal than clearing it on average. A strong overall score hiding a weak domain is the pattern that catches people out, which is why the results break down by topic rather than giving you one number.

How long should this take?

About twenty-five minutes at a steady pace, which is deliberately close to real exam pacing of roughly a minute per question. If you are taking substantially longer, that is useful information in itself: recall speed matters in a timed exam and improves with practice testing.

Can I retake it?

As many times as you like, and the question order changes on each attempt so you are recalling the material rather than the position of an answer. Spacing retakes several days apart is considerably more effective than repeating the test immediately, which is the practical version of what the spacing research shows.
