La regla · The rule

Four moments decide how you are read: the first email to someone new, a complaint, a refusal, and condolences. Each has a fixed Spanish shape and none forgives improvisation.

Y también · And also

Learn one sentence for each and keep it. For condolences: le acompaño en el sentimiento, or mi más sentido pésame — no more, no variation, and nothing about yourself.

Ojo · Watch out

For condolences the sentence is fixed: mi más sentido pésame, or le acompaño en el sentimiento — nothing more, nothing about yourself. transmitir is to convey; la negativa is the refusal; el primer correo is the first email.

transmitir, presente — the table

yo transmito · tú transmites · él/ella/usted transmite · nosotros transmitimos · ustedes transmiten · ellos/ellas transmiten

Do it now — on paper

  1. Say all 10 words aloud twice from the respelling, then once from the Spanish spelling alone — begin with mi más sentido pésame.
  2. Copy every word with its accents on paper; then cover the English column and write each meaning back from the Spanish.
  3. Write out transmitir, presente in full from memory, every person, and check each form against the table above.

This free course is the reading half. The writing half — write-in lessons, daily practice pages with built-in review, self-checks and a full answer key — is the companion workbook series, The Spanish Ladder: one workbook per module, fifteen in all, released band by band with the Basic band (Modules 1–5) first.
