There are only 144 multiplication facts in existence, and this book is built on that fact: a ladder of 84 short practice sets that works through every table both ways — the answer form and the missing-factor form, which is division readiness in disguise — in the order tables are actually taught. Two, ten and five first, then the doubling family, then the hard four, with mixed review between them so facts stick before the next table arrives.
Not a wall of facts. Every stage opens with arrays and equal groups to count, so a child sees what multiplying is before drilling it. Then story problems, fact families and fact triangles, skip counts, true-or-false, which-is-more, the strategies as drills (nines from tens, fives halved, the doubling family), facts standing up the way a test prints them, and three 25-question checks in the shape of the English Multiplication Tables Check. Four Puzzle Breaks — times grids with missing cells, product pyramids, crack-the-code — close the stages.
No wall of problems. Every page is a handful of small lettered blocks worth 100 points together, with a bonus for finishing each one. One block is a sitting. A page is a session. And the timer is optional — it always will be.
