La regla · The rule

The synthesis begins before you write anything: you read three or four texts looking for the QUESTION they are all answering, which none of them states.

Y también · And also

Mark each text with one sentence of your own — not a summary, a position: texto 1 = la tecnología aísla; texto 2 = conecta de otro modo. The disagreement between those sentences is your plan.

Ojo · Watch out

Mark each text with a POSITION, not a summary: texto 1 = la tecnología aísla. el rastreo is the first survey of the documents, done before a sentence is written. aislar takes an accent in the stressed forms: aíslo, aísla, but aislamos.

aislar, presente — the table

yo aíslo · tú aíslas · él/ella/usted aísla · nosotros aislamos · ustedes aíslan · ellos/ellas aíslan

Do it now — on paper

  1. Say all 9 words aloud twice from the respelling, then once from the Spanish spelling alone — begin with la pregunta común.
  2. Copy every word with its accents on paper; then cover the English column and write each meaning back from the Spanish.
  3. Write out aislar, presente in full from memory, every person, and check each form against the table above.

This free course is the reading half. The writing half — write-in lessons, daily practice pages with built-in review, self-checks and a full answer key — is the companion workbook series, The Spanish Ladder: one workbook per module, fifteen in all, released band by band with the Basic band (Modules 1–5) first.
